Learning to Live: Helping students develop a positive self-concept and appropriate social skills. Student Services provides a confidential atmosphere in which students can explore any topic or situation and discuss any concerns they may have. Students are helped to work through their problems, develop self-awareness, and overcome problems by using new
coping strategies. Students are referred to outside professional assistance when appropriate. |

Counselling services can be requested in person or by phone call to student services staff by any student, parent or staff member.
Counselling may be:
- Personal (i.e. stress, mood, family issues, self esteem, motivation)
- Social (peer or relationship problems, conflict resolution, harassment
- Academic/Career (gathering information and making decisions about future plans). Students have access to many resources such as career interest inventories, college and university calendars and scholarship/loans information.
- Crisis (suicide risk assessment, mental health issues, sudden loss or traumatic incident)
Referrals can be made to various community agencies when appropriate.
