Course Selection Process and Course Information
Course Selection (Spring)
- Students will register for the succeeding school year in February and March.
- Course Selection Seminars will be held by students services to prepare and assist students in their course selection process.
- Students and parents will be able to verify their course selection during Parent Teacher Conferences in March.
- Full time students must register in at least eight subjects a year unless enrollment is to complete Grade 12.
- A minimum of 24 credits are required to graduate.
Time Table Changes & Dropping Classes
- At the beginning of a new semester, time table changes will normally not be considered unless there are extenuating circumstances. When it is necessary to make a change, it should be discussed with a Guidance Counsellor or an Administrator. Forms for dropping a subject are to be obtained from your course instructor.
- Dropping a course is also to only occur in extenuating circumstances. A drop form is to obtained from the course instructor. A meeting with the grade appropriate counsellor will occur to ensure withdrawing from a class is in the best overall picture for the students. Parent permission is required, with final approval from administration.
- Dropping a class without notifying an Administrator will be treated as though the subject has not been dropped and a grade will appear on your report card and transcripts.
- The deadline for dropping classes for Semester 1 is in December and for Semester 2 is in May. Check with your administrator for exact dates.
